We present a five equation Eulerian model for the
  simulation of compressible multimaterial and two phase flow problems.
The model
  is derived from an asymptotic analysis of a seven equation model of
the Baer-Nunziato type. 
  We will discuss the mathematical properties of the model and its
numerical approximation. 
Finally we present a set of numerical experiments and some comparisons
with the results 
obtained with the seven equation model.
